What kind of job can I get if I have a misdemeanor simple ault on my record?

I was in law enforcement for 10 years and got into a bad argument with a girlfriend and well, u can guess the rest. In order to get the serious charges dropped I had to agree to a misdemeanor. I took the deal because I couldnt face the stress of prolonging the case any further, it had already been 2 years since it happened. Please dont judge me, as you dont know the facts of the case...Im simply wondering what in the world I can do now for work? I have a bs degree in criminal justice and im just about done with a masters in strategic leadership. I know I cant have a job with a gun, but is that all im exempt from? Can I become a teacher? Can I coach youth sports? What about volunteering at my daughters school events? Please help my life is ruined...Im also enrolled in an emt program but not sure if I can even get certified...
