I have had lag ever since a popup?

For some reason my friend sent me to some article on encyclopedia dramatica and i got these popups when i tried to close one of them a little thing pooped up i clicked x on it (i know that was dumb) and my computer has been lagging since. I have deleted all my cookies and it is still like that do you know how to fix this? I am using google chrome.
