Would the world be better off with religion?

I mean the middle east wouldnt be the way it is if if it wasnt for religion the middle east wouldnt have a beef w/ everyone and also the crusades and btw i dont need any bible thumpers to preach to me about the greatness of religion and trying to convert me you would have better luck getting blood from a turnip plus no vatican would be nice since all you catholics think you are better than other religions and other people when you are the ones that are hypocrites
